Bangu Under 14 girls soccer team joined families, students and teachers on April 21 for another successful day of work in the garden. We are most thankful for the time and effort on this project.
The first Saturday work day in the garden was a huge success!
Our Principal, Eric Paulson, was very busy with the sod kicker. Community members, staff and students all helped to line the paths with brick. Please join us for more garden work on Saturday April 21.
Richfield had an inch of snow this week but it is gone now. Tomorrow, April 14th, will be the first scheduled "work day" in the garden and we hope that the temperature will be in the 50's. On May 15th we will be sharing our garden through a video conference. We will learn about other school gardens in Kyle, Texas; Humble, Texas; Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
The Media Mouse (shown here as Poppy the deer mouse) is ready to go outdoors to the Courtyard Garden. Third grade classes have been making observations of the garden since last fall. As the seasons change, so does the activity in the garden.
I am the Media Specialist at Richfield Intermediate School and I have been growing roses since 1996. I am currently the president of the Twin Cities Rose Club.
