Mrs. Schleyer's Grade 3 class

Mrs Schleyer's class continued the discussion of mice as characters in children's books.
  • Poppy
  • Three Blind Mice (the classic nursery rhyme)
  • The Nutcracker (the play that the class went to at the Children's Theater and many books here in our Media Center)
  • If you take a mouse to school
  • If you take a mouse to the movies
  • Ralph S. Mouse

Charlotte's Web came up for discussion and it was decided that the character in this book is really a rat. What is the difference between mice and rats? If you know or can find out, post a comment on this blog.

Mrs. Schleyer's class reported that they have some mice books in their classroom library too:
The School Mouse and A Mouse Called Wolf both by Dick King-Smith.
